Belazu was founded in 1991 by George Bennell and Adam Wells, who began by importing olives from France and selling them to local delis and restaurants. Over thirty years later the company works with growers and specialist producers across the Mediterranean and the Middle East, and it buys through relationships it has held for years rather than on the open market. That is the part of the business we recognise in our own.

The pastes, pestos and tapenades are made at Belazu's own production site. The vinegars come from the makers who specialise in them, the balsamic and white condiment from Modena, the sherry vinegar from Spain.

Two products carry most of the brand recognition. Rose Harissa has been a UK cupboard staple for over twenty years and is the line most chefs will already know by name. The 1.34 Balsamic Vinegar of Modena is a 3-star Great Taste Award winner, an award given to fewer than 2% of entries, and it is favoured by leading chefs.

Belazu is a certified B Corporation. Its production site has been recognised as Zero Landfill, and 3% of annual profits support food and education projects through the Belazu Foundation, a registered charity.
